EXHAUST GAS HEAT EXCHANGER FOR OPTIMUM HEAT UTILISATION
APROVIS supplied three series-connected exhaust gas heat exchangers for a biogas plant in Belgium. Two vertical and one horizontal exhaust gas heat exchanger were used. The exhaust gas is cooled down to 30°C.
The result
In addition to sensible heat, large amounts of latent heat are now rendered usable too. The total thermal output is roughly 9.5 MW.
Our made-to-measure solution
The combined heat and power plant is made up of four independent engines. APROVIS designed the exhaust gas heat exchangers to enable operation with one to up to four engines. The engine output is 4 x 3 MWel; the total exhaust gas mass flow is 72,300 kg/h. Up to 2.5 t of condensate are produced per hour in the third stage. The exhaust gas heat exchangers have a tare weight of just under 22 t and each measure over 10 m long.
