Balancing power from biogas plants
To participate at the energy market is an important issue for biogas plant operators for biogas plants. A biogas plant in southern Germany was upgraded to provide primary balancing energy from its gas engines. The plant with a installed capacity of 2.000 kW electrical power provides electricity from renewable energies especially in times of high electricity demand to the market after the plant upgrade.
The plant upgrade required a biogas cooling unit FriCon and an activated carbon filter ActiCo that matches the flexibility requirements of the modified operating mode. Furthermore the exhaust gas heat from the gas engines is used in APROVIS echaust gas heat exchangers.
