Gland steam condensers from APROVIS are used in large steam turbines. Steam can be generated from a variety of sources, such as coal, gas or solar operation. APROVIS supplies the corresponding gland steam condensers for both regenerative and conventional applications as a complete system including blowers. How the gland steam condenser works
At the turbine shaft seal, the blowers create a slight vacuum, sucking in the steam / air mixture. The steam condenses in the gland steam condenser with the help of coolant. This condensate is fed into a condensate system and returned to the steam circuit; the air is discharged from the system.
International guidelines and safety standards
Approvals for APROVIS’s gland steam condensers can be granted at present according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and ASME. APROVIS responds flexibly and quickly to the networks on the international market to offer additional certifications.
