Stable operation for steam turbines
APROVIS offers gland steam condensers as a complete system including blowers. They are used in large steam turbines and are suitable for both regenerative and conventional applications – depending on the source the steam is generated from.
How gland steam condensers work
At the turbine shaft seal, the blowers create a slight vacuum, sucking in the steam / air mixture. The steam condenses in the gland steam condenser with the help of coolant. This condensate is fed into a condensate system and returned to the steam circuit; the air is discharged from the system.
Acceptance in line with international guidelines
Approvals for APROVIS’s gland steam condensers can be granted at present according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive and the ASME Code. APROVIS is still expanding its acceptance procedures in accordance with the relevant country regulations.
