Research project Micro-Rankine steam turbine - APROVIS supplies steam generator
The "MicroRankine" project, under the leadership of the Technical University of Nuremberg, aims to use a micro steam turbine to generate electricity from exhaust gas from CHPs.
The project was taken to the practical test phase with a pilot plant at the Nuremberg sewage treatment plant. APROVIS supplied the steam generator with economizer and superheater for this test plant, which generates superheated steam at 16 barü and 430°C using the energy from the exhaust gas. This steam is then used to feed the micro steam turbine to generate electricity.
The follow-up project KompACT at the same site, whose aim is to make the plant more compact and more cost-effective, has already started.
