APROVIS has been providing reliable, sustainable and innovative energy technology solutions since the company was founded in 2000. Over the past 25 years, we have become a global specialist – thanks to the values that are important to us and that will continue to guide us in the future.
Dr Steffen Hauff laid the foundation stone for APROVIS in Weidenbach-Triesdorf, Bavaria, Germany, focusing on exhaust gas heat exchangers to increase the energy efficiency of combined heat and power (CHP) plants. His vision: To make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

The beginning of a vision
Focussing on the CHP market, APROVIS ventures into international markets right from the start. With growing expertise in waste heat recovery, sales in other European countries also increase rapidly. Our early internationalisation is further supported by the introduction of the European Pressure Equipment Directive and the euro.
2000
Close to the customer
Our customers’ wishes inspire us to expand: in addition to exhaust gas heat exchangers, we now also design steam generators, heat recovery units and gas heat exchangers. The first customer conference in the same year marks the beginning of a tradition of meeting and open dialogue that continues to this day.
2001
Together under one (new) roof
Our team is constantly growing. We move into our first office building in Weidenbach-Triesdorf. The first team development programmes are launched and continue to promote cohesion and our joint growth to this day.
2003
New products, new opportunities
The next steps include an additional office building and the establishment of a new electrical department. We expand our range with products such as the FriCon gas cooling unit and the ActiCo activated carbon filter, and our first appearance at Enertec Leipzig further confirms that we are on the right path.
2006
10 years of APROVIS: values that connect
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we have almost 50 employees and introduce our guiding principle “z.k.safe”, which reflects both our commitment and the standard we set for our daily work: reliable – competent – fast – attentive – flexible – efficient.
Our new headquarters on Ornbauer Straße offers 1,600 square metres of space for the future.
2010
On course for growth
Dr Markus Heusch joins the management team alongside Dr Steffen Hauff and the product portfolio is expanded to include water tube boilers, oxidation catalysts and silencers. At the same time, the maintenance/service business area is established. In the following year, the 100th employee marks another milestone.
2011
Progress through precision and technology
An in-house engine test bench for catalysts, silencers and exhaust gas heat exchangers is put into operation to investigate the high quality standards in close collaboration with universities. We also develop and launch the SCR catalyst, silencers to meet the highest requirements and exhaust gas heat exchangers for 10 MW engines.
2016
Reinforcement and expansion into Asia
In 2018, Henning Adelt is additionally appointed as Managing Director. We also open our first international branch in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, to serve our Asia-Pacific customers.
2018
20 years of growth and new perspectives
After 20 years of successful and influential management, Dr Steffen Hauff hands over the baton to Markus and Henning. We also take on additional office space and a new hall on Ornbauer Straße where we still feel at home today.
2020
We take customer proximity literally
We establish APROVIS Energy Systems Italia Srl in Carpi to be even closer to our Italian customers and to offer our services directly on site.
2021
A strong “WE”
With over 200 employees, our team is stronger and more diverse than ever. It is not just our numbers that are growing but also our sense of “WE”, which connects and motivates us every day.

Data centres – new opportunities through flexibility
With the new “Data Centre” business division, we are responding to the demands of digitalisation. Through our customised comprehensive solutions, we are able to reduce emissions of all kinds for each customer, while solidifying the future of this industry with a 360° APROVIS perspective.
